Perfect Records
1922-1938

Perfect was a budget label owned and pressed by Pathé Records starting in 1922. They were laterally cut but used the same dubbing process as Pathé Actuelles and therefore have the same aural drawbacks. The label's name is thus quite ironic. Most were also pressed on reddish-brown shellac of slightly less quality than shellac of the major companies. In addition, much of its material was concurrently released on Actuelle.

A&R for the label spanned most genres from the common phonograph artists (Henry Burr et. al.) to popular dance music, hot music, Blues and Country. However, Classical music and twelve-inch records weren't issued. Electrical recording (and the end of dubbing) began in late 1926. In 1929, Pathé Records U. S. A. was merged into the American Record Corporation (ARC). Its new owners discontinued Actuelle the following year while Perfect lived on until 1938.
