Zonophone Records (Europe)
1899-1931

Like its American counterpart, Zonophone in Europe was a descendent of Frank Seaman's company that was founded in 1899 in Camden, New Jersey and was divided up amongst Victor and G&T in 1903 after legal action. Also like American Zonophone, it then served as a budget label for its owner, G&T. Double-sided issues with the additional name of "The Twin" replaced single-sided discs in 1911. When EMI was born out of a merger of G&T and Columbia in 1931, the label became Regal Zonophone and continued on for decades into recent times.
