Edison Diamond Discs
1912-1929

This page covers the 80000 series from 80001 to 80907 with issue dates ranging from 1912 to 1928. It was the second-level tier above the popular 50000 series and had a base price of $1.50. A&R included Light Classical and Vaudeville thought too prestigious to be sold for $1.00. It was analogous to Victor's Purple and Blue Labels. Like those labels, the bulk of 80000 issues were recorded and released in the 1910s with a sharp slowdown going into the 1920s.
