Claxtonola Records
1918-1925

Claxtonola was a label owned by the Brenard Manufacturing Company of Iowa City, Iowa. It produced phonographs but had its recordings leased from and discs pressed by second-generation record companies such as Emerson, Paramount, Gennett and Black Swan. It actually released a respectable amount of hot music from the likes of Fletcher Henderson, Jelly Roll Morton and The Wolverines, sometimes on its sister label "National Records".
